London-based singer and producer Rationale has been killing it left, right, and center. Before today he had released two tracks, “Re.Up” and “Fast Lane,” melancholy tinged pop songs that were still as catchy as anything on the radio, and he continues his run with “Fuel To The Fire.”
The powerful new song, with lyrics about a lack of justice and the repeated “they are bleeding you,” could have been inspired by any number of recent events, both in the UK and abroad, and it feels like an anthem for anyone feeling disenfranchised and disillusioned. Rationale explains:
“'Fuel To The Fire' is a song about power, pressure, frustration & hope. It was wrote watching particularly grim news on the television around a year and a half ago."
Annie Mac premiered the track on BBC Radio 1 just a little earlier this evening, and we’re happy to premiere the stark accompanying video, which also gives us a first look at the man behind the music, above.
The Fuel to the Fire EP is out September 18,
