Teen Daze will drop his next album on August 14th.
Morning World comes in the wake of a particularly prolific few years for the Fraser Valley, British Columbia producer. After turning heads with 2010's Four More Years, which lumped him in with the chillwave movement, he moved on to bubbling electronica, synth pop and dance music with newer LPs like All Of Us, Together. Altogether, he released three albums and a handful of EPs in the period between 2012 and 2013.
With the exception of a few singles, Morning World comes after a two year break from releasing, and Teen Daze—otherwise known only as Jamison—took a markedly different approach with this one. Recorded in only six days at the all-analogue Tiny Telephone studio with producer John Vanderslice, on Morning World Jamison emphasizes his more indie-influenced side with prominent live instrumentation and his own vocals.
The press release says the record tells the story of "a Garden of Eden, a place of transcendent, pain-free beauty, but with one key distinction… it’s not real and time there is finite." Where previous records came through Lefse, Morning World will arrive via Paper Bag Records.
This didn’t leak until just now. Someone reported that it leaked a week and a half ago, but that was just the single “Morning World”.
