Andrew Weatherall has a new solo album on the way in 2016.
The Briton's last LP under his own name was 2009's A Pox On The Pioneers, though in that time he's released music as one half of Asphodells and alongside Nina Walsh as The Woodleigh Research Facility. Walsh played a part in the new full-length, titled Covenanza, hosting the project's early sessions in her studio. With nods to punk, funk, indie rock and EBM, it's "the sound of Andrew Weatherall looking back at the clutter of a life thoroughly lived and realising it’s too late to tidy it up in any meaningful way." The nine-track album will be available on vinyl, CD and digital from February 26th.
In related news, Weatherall recently revealed that he's selling a special 7-inch to raise money for the restoration of Lil Mo, a very rare Austin A60 van.
