Soundtrack auteur Cliff Martinez ("Contagion","The Knick") re-collaborates with film director Nicolas Winding Refn ("Drive", "Only God Forgives") on horror-thriller "The Neon Demon".
The soundtrack is certain to provide Martinez' trademark aural atmosphere. The movie's plot focuses on aspiring model Jesse's (actress Elle Fanning) move to Los Angeles to pursue her career, who quickly finds her youth and vitality targeted by a group of beauty-obsessed women.
Martinez and Refn worked together on both of the latter's previous directorial outings, with "Drive" gathering much critical acclaim for both it's visual and musical panache.
The soundtrack is scheduled for digital and CD release on June 24th and a double vinyl release on July 8th.
Martinez was awarded the best composer award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. I can’t wait to heat this in it’s entirety.
It’s a shame the theme from the trailer doesn’t appear to be included, was dying to hear that composition in full.
@Tom I thought that was Track 3 (The Demon Dance)? I’d be bummed if that’s not it or isn’t on it. :-/
Unfortunately not mate :( the soundtrack is great though, but I’m gutted that song isn’t part of it.
To me, he still will be the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer forever…
