It's been 3 years since Running Wild unleashed 'Resilient' on the world and now Rolf Kasparek is back with a new album. 'Rapid Foray' looks to recapture the band's glory days of the early 1990s with a modern touch. Even though the band was deactivated officially in 2009, Rolf has been back in action since 2012, recording new material and even making a live return at the Wacken 2015 stage. The album features 11 tracks, one of which is an instrumental and closes with the 11 minute epic "Last of the Mohicans" which Rolf has promised is in the vein of "The Ghost" from 'The Brotherhood' album. The album title itself is from a military expression meaning 'fast mission' and also sees the first overtly pirate cover art since 1994's 'Black Hand Inn'. Already being hailed as a true return to form for the band, this will surely put Running Wild back on the heavy metal map in 2015.
The best album since the reunion for sure. Definitely worth checking out!
