Arto Lindsay, a member of the 1970's no wave band DNA and an influential solo musician, has announced a album. "Cuidado Madame" is his first solo material in 13 years; his last full length was 2004's "Salt". "Cuidado Madame"'s title is a mix of the portuguese word for "be careful" and madame. It is also titled after an infamous 1970 Julio Bressane film about oppressed housemaids revolting against and brutally murdering their mistresses. Lindsay always noted traditional Brazilian Music as a heavy influence for his material and this album is no different. The album's foundation revolves around the traditional Bahian religion of "Candomblé". The process began with recordings of atabaques in Brazil. Lindsay wrote melodies and lyrics over the rhythms in the studio in Brooklyn. The album is self-produced and it features Melvin Gibbs, Paul Wilson, Kassa Overall, Patrick Higgins, Ryu Takahashi and Thiago Nassif. The album is out on April 21st via Northern Spy Records.
