Gruntruck were a rock band from Seattle. They stood among the grunge bands with their heavy, sabbathian sound, only comparable to Alice in Chains and maybe Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger album. They were active from 1989 to 2002, except for a hiatus from 1993 to 1996. Their discography consists of two albums - 1990's "Inside Yours" and 1992's "Push" - and an EP - 1996's "Shot, Illusion, New God", which contained a different line-up. Once the original band members reunited in 1997, they recorded their third album with producers Jack Endino (who is a legendary figure of the Seattle grunge scene, also the bandmate of Ben McMillan in his other band, Skin Yard) and Martin Feveyear, over the span of a few years. The album was finished, but never released, because the band had to go on hiatus in 2002, due to singer Ben McMillan's health problems. McMillan died in 2008 in diabetes. In 2016, the head of Found Recordings, Scott Blum met Jack Endino and learned about the existence of the album, then decided to release it. So, this is, what's going to happen on the 13th of October. The band is going to reunite for a few shows as well, to celebrate the release of the album and honour their late singer. No word on who is going to take his place yet. R.I.P. Ben McMillan

I’m very excited to hear an album for the first time from the 90’s Seattle grunge scene, that isn’t some rarities collection, compilation, or something similar, but a studio album, that was supposed to be released around 1998-1999. First, there weren’t many grunge bands around anymore at the time, so we get a taste of where grunge would’ve gone, if all the great bands didn’t break up, or change their sound. I also wonder, how fresh it will feel compared to the reunion albums of bands like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. Judging from the two tracks released so far, it’s going to kick ass. By the way, it’s coming on my birthday (so it better be good).
