The Shins I Gleek on Your Grave

The Shins are an American indie rock band from Albuquerque, New Mexico, formed in 1996. The band's current lineup consists of James Mercer (vocals, guitar, songwriter), Joe Plummer (drums), Mark Watrous (guitar), Yuuki Matthews (bass), and Richard Swift (keyboards). The band is based in Portland, Oregon.

The Shins signed to Columbia Records in 2012 and Mercer parted ways with the entire original lineup, deeming it "an aesthetic decision". Following a near five-year hiatus, Port of Morrow, the band's fourth studio album, was released in 2012. Their fifth album is expected early 2017.

In 2016, The Shins announced that work on their fifth album was underway. Mercer teased several short clips of the new songs, also stating the final mixing of the album is underway via the band's Instagram.[27] On August 12 2016, Mercer revealed that the band has completed work on the as of yet untitled album and expects the album to arrive in January 2017.[28] On October 27th, they released their first single, "Dead Alive" along with a music video. I Gleek on Your Grave is speculated to be the album title as it appears at beginning the "Dead Alive" music video and at end of the '50's horror movie trailer'-esque teaser of the same name, as well as several posts by the group on social networking sites throughout the year which make reference to the title.
