Sabina Sciubba is a singer, composer, and actress, known as the lead singer for the Grammy-nominated electronica band Brazilian Girls and loved for her signature multi-lingual storytelling songwriting, which she refers to as "Trans-genre", not pertaining to a specific musical genre.
The music of "Force Majeure", her sophomore solo album (the debut, "Toujours", was released on March 2014 through Bar None Ent.), makes a balancing act between Baroque music, Avant-garde music, 80's style Electronic music, telling life stories that are intimate, sometimes catchy, philosophical and touching.
She appears as an actress alongside Zach Galifianakis on the FX series "Baskets" since 2016, where the first single "I Know You Too Well" is to be first to be featured.
Jon Pareles from the New York Times called Sciubba: "Nonchalant, elusive, sophisticated"; Uncut wrote: "A Dietrich de nos jours"; and Rebecca Ostiker from the Boston Globe called her simply "A Goddess".
