Car Seat Headrest, the project of front man Wil Toledo, will release "Making a Door Less Open" on Matador on 5/1/2020. This is the first album of entirely new material to be released by the band since the universally acclaimed "Teens of Denial" in 2016. Interestingly, the album is billed as a "collaboration" between Car Seat Headrest and CHR, the electronic side project featuring Toledo and drummer Andrew Katz. Both units recorded versions of the album and later synthesized the two together. Lead single "Can't Cool Me Down" showcases the result by featuring the distracted vocals and intricate wordplay that are the hallmark of the band, wedded to a pulsing electronic beat. The band will also embark on a US tour in support of the album beginning 5/27 in St. Paul, MI.
