The Metallica Blacklist is an upcoming tribute album to American heavy metal band Metallica's 1991 self-titled album, colloquially referred to as The Black Album. The album will feature the 12 songs from the original album covered by 53 different artists from a wide variety of genres. 100 percent of the proceeds from The Metallica Blacklist will go to charity, including 50 percent to Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation.
It’s FANTASTIC that this all goes to charity, but jeez… Look at that track listing. Covers or no, the same song many times in a row… ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
I see potential for this to be interesting, but they could’ve at least shuffled up the tracks a bit. Also, twelve and a half covers of Nothing Else Matters is way too many for a four-disc set.
I plan to adjust the listings in MusicBee so it’s laid out more like a traditional track list. I’ll take the 1st Enter Sandman cover and put it on the same disk/playlist as the first track from every song. It might even be doable to sort by style too. I know it won’t be perfect, because there isn’t a consistent number of covers per song, but it’s better than listening to 7 versions of Nothing Else Matters in a row.
This sucks
It’s out, “LEAKED”
