Jim Jones's "We Own The Night Pt 2: Memoirs Of A Hustler" is set for release on September 9th 2014 and this is something I might actually pay attention to. After listening to his latest track "Last Night" featuring Jadakiss which will appear on the album as well, it seemed as if Jones was locked in a jail cell and the only get out of jail free card available was to write and learn how to ride a beat properly. Everyone has that awkward opinion of Jim Jones in the Rap Game, as if hes one of those members of an entourage that decided to rap and became popular by the people around him co-signing his tracks/albums. I believe that may have been the case, in the beginning, and then he started to actually take it serious and it shows on this record "Last Night" as a big improvement to his previous work that sounded forced, rushed, and simply for a pay check. It's safe to assume he also got lucky being a pawn to the Industry networking which leads to a spontaneous track like "We Fly High" that hit every club and trunks when it was hot..And it took awhile to put that heat out, this random act of chaos appeared to be a 1 hitter, and it was. Falling back from Jones in the past and his attempts to recreate another "We Fly High", it's obvious that hes testing the water right now in the real Hip Hop scene. I haven't heard any other track from his new EP so it leaves the discussion open for debate if he really put in work and studied for this project. I do know though, this joint "Last Night" gives me a little faith in anticipating the release. -> The Pharmacyst x Medicated Empire.

The latest release from Jim Jones has appeared on Amazon, complete with 30 second snippets of the EP's nine tracks. Titled We Own The Night Pt. 2: Memoirs Of A Hustler, the project serves as a sequel to the original Vampire Life project released in December 2013. Unlike the original We Own The Night, which featured a lone solo track, Memoirs Of A Hustler features a guest performer on every track. Supporting acts include Trey Songz, Yo Gotti, K Camp, Cam'Ron, Jadakiss, and Hell Rell among others.
