THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME IN 2015

Hey guys, Per Nilsson here! I hope you have survived the holidays and that you're all off to a great 2015. I just wanted to check in with a quick update to let you know what's going on in the Scar Symmetry camp!

One of us is having a kid soon, which is why we've decided to not tour until the fall at the earliest, though we might do some of them summer festivals this year. In the meanwhile, me and Henrik will be hard at work writing 'The Singularity (Phase II - The Force Awakens)'. We're nowhere near having a release date, but as usual you'll read it here (facebook) first!

This is hilarious. Remember a few weeks ago when I made that joke about our next album's title? Well it is obviously NOT going to be called "The Singularity (Phase II - The Force Awakens)" since that is pretty much the name of the upcoming new Star Wars movie. Apart from the super lameness of using a Disney movie title, we'd prefer to steer clear of lawsuits that would put us in debt for the rest of our lives.

Not everyone got that it was a joke though, and add to that that Phase II is far from having been recorded, and it's hilarious that a few sites claim to have the album available for download!

The next installment of our album trilogy will be called "The Singularity (Phase II - Age of Ultron)". FOR REALZ

We wanted to do a Peter Jackson and release the trilogy phases annually, but for different reasons it's taken longer than we anticipated :) We've been working on Phase II for a long time now, all the songs are written and most of it is recorded, there's some overdubs and solos left plus the mixing, so we're hoping for an early 2017 release

In an interview, Roberth Karlsson says Scar Symmetry is aiming for a Spring 2017 release date. All drum parts, guitar demos, and almost all vocal parts are done. The song structure for the whole album has been finalized.

They've released they're calling the album PHASE II - XENOTAPH and are finally in the study and are in the final tracking sessions for Phase II according to their latest Facebook post.
