“Alive” is the first official taste of her upcoming seventh studio album “This Is Acting” due out later this year via RCA Records. The song is scheduled to be released on digital retailers on September 25th.
Sia revealed this details during her appearance at the Venice Fil Festival on September 6th supporting the premiere of Julie Delpy’s film “Lolo”. According Slovenian site RTV, Sia plans to release “Alive” as the first single a song originally written for Adele, but it was rejected. She said:
It’s about Adele’s life, so I now sing a song from Adele’s perspective. This is the first song from this new project. I’m calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go into it thinking, ‘This is something I would say’. It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun
According All Access, “Alive” is scheduled to impact Top40/Mainstream radio on September 29th.
“Alive” was written by Sia herself with the collaboration of Tobias Jesso, Jr. and Adele Adkins.
I really liked this song. Sia’s voice is amazing and I can’t imagine it being done by any other artist. :) 10/10
