Meek Is Murder just revealed a first taste of upcoming fourth album, "Was," with opening track "Black Lung" now streaming in the form of a video shot during the recording of the album at GodCity Studio with producer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails).
Recorded and mixed by Ballou and mastered by Alan Douches (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Tombs), "Was" is the most powerful distillation of the Meek Is Murder sound yet recorded.
Frontman Mike Keller describes the concept behind the album: "Typical humans, we think about the past a lot. We romanticize it to reconcile a disappointing present. We re-write history so it reads the way we wish it went. We black it out when it's just too much. And worst of all, we forget. It's a struggle to appreciate the good things or recognize the negative ones at the time they occur."
New album "Was" is set for a July 15th release.
