Old-school Band To Watch honoree Computer Magic is back this week with a fantastic new EP called Obscure But Visible. The five-song set finds project mastermind Danz flexing her songwriting muscle via a diverse array of synthpop stylings. As she explains, that was the idea:
I wrote the Obscure But Visible EP upstate this past Spring / Summer. I think the general feeling for the EP was an open one. In a way, I wanted it to feel lighthearted. I tried to showcase a few different songwriting styles of what I do, too.
From the digital fantasia of opener “Dimensions” to the frantically percussive adrenaline rush “The New Generation” to the ’90s-inspired electronic rock ballad “Gone For The Weekend,” Obscure But Visible contains some of Computer Magic’s best work yet.
