Old Man Gloom is the long running sludge/noise/post-whatever project featuring members of ISIS, Cave In, Converge and all of the other projects associated with those members (Sumac, Zozobra, etc). As you may have guessed, Seminar VII: Light of Meaning will be the 7th full length offering from the band (sort of, depending how you count Ape of God I & II). However, this will be the first album following the tragic death in 2018 of founding member and vocalist/bassist Caleb Scofield. Scofields bandmate in Cave In, Stephen Brodsky, will step in on bass and vocals. Anyone who follows drummer and band spokesman Santos Montano social media presence knows that Old Man Gloom is every bit as much a group of friends as it is a musical project, so it will be fascinating to see how the album reflects the loss of their brother. The album will feature contributions that were recorded by Scofield before his untimely passing.
More details to follow.
