Dog Bite is a shoegaze band. The Atlanta four-piece specialized in glistening shoegaze made lush by Phil Jones' reverbed and droning vocals. It's decadent music that hangs in the atmosphere, shadowy at times and expansive at others. It also doesn't hurt that while the band was preparing their second album — the also well-named Tranquilizers, out January 21 on Carpark Records — their leader was on a serious soul kick, immersing himself in the legacies of Otis Redding and Isaac Hayes.
There is something about Dog Bite that fits perfectly into my winter mood! Excited that they have been so busy in the studio!
