In 2004 The Go Find’s Dieter Sermeus floated into our musical realm on a cute paper sailboat, guitar in his hands, palm trees in the distance. After finding the right musical companions he took a stroll in the woods on his second Go Find record. On the third record the band disappeared in a cardboard landscape of blue mountains, and now, in 2013, only colorful light beams remain, searching for a Brand New Love. What previous The Go Find records only hinted at becomes very apparent on the new album: the band stirs a big chunk of love for eighties pop music into 21st century pop songs. On Brand New Love, the decade of the New Romantics shimmers through in every song. But The Go Find treats those classic eighties sounds in a surprisingly fresh manner: a mix of indie, electronics and some smooooth synth-loving, combined with the already well-known The Go Find sound.
Anyone could be a brand new love. It could happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. Something so good you're not quite ready for it. So simple it's impossible to understand.
