HAS IT LEAKED 2.0

“We are working on the next version of Has it Leaked and we need your feedback and requests”

Has it Leaked 2.0

For a couple of months now we’ve been getting a lot of new members. We love that. But the site haven’t really coped with the traffic all too well. We’ve been fixing bugs for too long now, and we would rather add new features instead. So we’re throwing out the old stuff – And are reading a new, completely revamped HIL. Why spend the summer outside, when you can sit in front of a computer working on a site, right?

So give it to us – What do you want?

Scrap the new Disqus comment feature? Be able to follow artists on the site? Separate streams from leaks (that one is actually already in the works). Member album reviews? A way to get album recommendations? Let us know by adding a comment below and use the vote up/down function to have your say on other members input!

The pink goo is actually being replaced!

Maybe its time to loose the pink goo

A couple of things we won’t add… No download links. And no chat functionality since its impossible for us to moderate. That’s about it, except we’re pretty set on what the new site will look like as well – We promise you it will look and feel a lot better.

So add your comments below (you can now login and comment using your existing account!) and we’ll listen!

DEFINITELY album suggestions according to albums saved or “owned” that way we discover new similar artists and what they’ve been working on recently. Looking forward to it!!

Definitely revamp the new comment engine thing, considering I can’t see if anyone has said that on here. It either never loads, or loads so I can see only a few comments and the rest are covered by the bottom part of the site background.
Add back the points tally in the my account section. Make a section for all threads that you have left a comment in, or a favorites thread where you can jump to different albums easier.

It would be great if you guys could somehow add a symbol or something that shows if something has leaked or has been reported to be leaked.

I would love for the new version of HIL to incorporate some sort of “following” aspect allowing for news/updates from artists followed that is more comprehensive than referring to a mere Wikipedia article for news of upcoming releases, just-because releases, etc. I think it would foster a pretty nice community following for the artists as well, composed primarily of those “in the know,” ya know?

Adjust the levels so that it can accommodate those who have entered the wrong information, I’ll never get to 500!

It would be great if we can sort recently released albums by hype.

Trending albums should clearly display whether or not they have leaked on the homepage.

    -more ways to earn points
-potentially some kind of feed in which you can see the albums that your friends have added to their hype lists, commented, etc.

This has probably been mentioned, but adding to the browsing section would be great. In addition to browsing a couple of genres, maybe we could also record labels, or trending artist, ect.

Also Discography information (tracklists, dates, labels, band members) for previous releases wouold be really cool! Like wikipedia, everybody can create pages for artist/albums but higher level users are tasked with moderating.

can wait for the new site!

Elaborate the profiles, maybe make a review section. Also in the favorite artist section on your profile make it like how Facebook has it to where it makes a link to that artists page then feature upcoming releases (and whatever is in your DB as far as releases go. No need to put in all that research as Buckethead has 47 albums and putting metadata for those would be pointless.) a feed to where you can report a leaked track off the album. Just an idea.

To add on the artist page with releases. Users can submit the albums/tracklist/release date kinda like a go to artist wiki and all you’d have to do is validate it with a Google search.

Adding Movies, Softwares & Games would be awesome :)))

    Also for Music :
+ Some Optional Fields (Like: Publisher, Producer, Composer, Album Art Designer, Instruments, etc).
+ Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube Links for Album or Artist.
+ HIL has a very weak coverage for non-English languages like French, German, Spanish or Italic Music, so maybe adding Multiple-Language would attract more people to share their Leak-Information.
! Album Track-List needs a serious Visual FIX (something like one track per Line).

HIL is sooooo cool now, however adding some new features and some polishes can make the site much better.

What I would LOVE to see as a feature, is a recomended for you section, based on what you add hype to.

    A EP and Single section.
A better way to show the tracklist.
Notifications on the website when an album that we were waiting for has leaked (something like the +1 notification)

The process of adding alerts for albums you want is so time and effort consuming, please make it easier to select a number of albums by just reviewing the whole list once (no opening individual web pages for each involved)

add a genre to the new albums. Looking at all new artists and albums but not knowing what genre of music it is creates a hassle
