WIN AN INVITE TO A PRIVATE MP3 SITE

This competition is now over – What should we do next? Help us out in the comments!

We’re almost a month into 2017 and already we’ve been hit by a number of album announcements. But while most of us aware that artists such as Gorillaz, Lana Del Rey, Depeche Mode and Beck are releasing albums this year – I want highlight hidden gems. Albums and artists which might have gotten unnoticed so far. There’s even a comprehensive list of albums on our forum to help you out.

Name an album, due for release this year, which you think should get noticed – And why! And why not include a link to a Has it Leaked album entry, if there’s one – Or include a Youtube link or Soundcloud embed! The entry with the most interesting, fun or just passionate argument will win an invite to Apollo – An exclusive private MP3 torrent site founded when What.CD went offline. The place is one of the fastest growing music libraries on the internet. It’s an invite-only site with over 400,000 entries.

Rules: You need to be signed in with a Has it Leaked account. Register one here if you don’t got one. Add your entry in the comment section below. One entry per member. Name the artist, mention the album title (if it has been announced) and why you think it should get recognized. Winner will be chosen on February 6th. An Apollo invite will be sent to the winner’s Has it Leaked account.

Notes: We are in no way affiliated with the site “Apollo”. The site includes downloads of copyrighted material, something we do not support. We recommend you to use the site to download legal music only. Use the site at your discretion.

Winner chosen!

Congratulations to Nathan who won for his in-depth submission, naming The Tear Garden, as his choice for most anticipated album of the year. He won, not because it was lengthy, but because of his passion for the upcoming release. It’s also an under the radar album, while still being influential for a lot of artists.

Thanks to everyone who entered. Stay tuned for more competition!

    absolutely Captain Murphy – V

First of all it’s Steven Ellison’ (aka Flying Lotus) alter-ego so it must have a lot of respect no matter what happened with it, it’ll get tons of hype.
Secodly, after the GENIUS “Duality” mixtape and long-duration clip, the last album by FlyLo (You’re Dead!) which was just freaking amazing, his new weird movie (Kuso), and of course the goddamn features he plans for us (K. Dot, Earl Sweatshirt, Viktor Vaughn and Thundercat for all I know right now) there’s no way this album’s gonna be missed or a downfall for Steven.

YES YES YES COME TO PAPA!!!

Sylvan Esso’s new untitled album due for release this year. They’re gonna start touring in May so it’s safe to say the album will be released somewhere around that time. They’re largely underrated with Nick Sanborn on production and beats and Amelia Meath on vocals they put out music that is unheard and genre breaking.

The album that I think should get attention this year is one that doesn’t even have a name yet, but it’s about 90% coming out this year:

    Iglooghost’s debut album.
(the previous EP, Chinese Nü Yr by Iglooghost: https://youtu.be/qocGLpVFS0w?list=PLhWWVi-OXMCBQ60-oTHcglM-1kpBSiDQt )

This guy, to me, is one of the most creative and crazy producers out there right now. There are two things that most fascinate me about Iglooghost. Number 1, this dude’s mad talented, the intricacies of all he does on the computer, the details of how he mixes and puts things together, the textures and shapes he causes in your mind through his concoctions, nothing feels out of place and there’s always something new to be taken from his music. Number 2, the guy’s brain is connected in a different way, and the music clearly shows this, the transitions he makes, the mad layer on top of the beat, they are separate and very interconnected. If you listen you can have two completely different experiences, or listen to both and have an overwhelming one. And he does all this while making very danceable music, though you might sometimes lose track of what dancing is in the first place. All I said makes me very excited for an album he’s been working on and should most likely come out this year on Brainfeeder, and mostly because while one can see that he takes inspiration from his label’s boss, in the end his flavor is completely unique and conjuring of different worlds and realities. To illustrate all this, here’s his description of a song of his (direct quote, caps his): “THE SONG “XIANGJIAO” IS ABOUT A GELATINOUS WORM WITCH CALLED XIANGJIAO ZOOMING VERY FAST THRU A STUPID NONSENSICAL SPACE FULL OF FLOATING PEACHES & A LOT OF STEAM, WHICH IS VERY MUCH GETTING IN THE WAY OF LOOKING 4 THE NEXT PORTAL 2 ESCAPE THIS PARTICULARLY TROUBLESOME PLACE. HE/SHE IS DUCKING AND BENDING AROUND FLYING THINGS & IS CRYING GUMMY TEARS. AT 2:04 A LOT OF PINK MOUNTAINS START GROWING FROM SOMEWHERE & XIANGJIAO HAS TO RUN AWAY FROM THEM RLLY FAST. ꒦ິ⍙꒦ິ”

It’s rather simple to read the rules, mojib.

“2.2. Do not trade, sell, publicly give away, or publicly offer invites.
Only invite people you know and trust. Do not offer invites via other trackers, forums, social media, or other public locations. Responding to public invite requests is prohibited. Exception: Staff-designated recruiters may offer invites in approved locations.”

This has been reported to staff. I hope you will lose your account and I hope your invite tree will be banned. To users hoping to “win” an invite, don’t bother.

I’m aware. I’m willing to take the risk. I might get my account banned, that’s fine.
But the winner will receive an invite, not to worry.

How has no one mentioned the band “Less Art” and their debut release of “Strangled Light”???

Thrice, Kowloon Walled City & Ex-Curl Up And Die members!!! It seems very little is out there about them. If you look them up on youtube, Riley has a few vids posted from a live show back in July. In January, they posted about the new album being mixed and should be out late spring/early summer. Even Jacob van Loon (Explosions in the Sky) is working on the design!

How could you NOT be stoked for this?!

    LCD Soundsystem – (currently untitled)

No band has meant more to me during my formative music obsessive years than this band. Their 3 albums pre-breakup don’t sound anything alike, yet they are all magnificent in their own way. The 4th album that was mentioned last year made my jaw drop in excitement. I’m sure it’ll be nothing like the previous ones, but it will not disappoint the diehards like me. I can guarantee it will follow the awesome 9 song formula all the albums have and there will a tune on there for everyone.

They are also one of the best live acts you can ever see, so this new album just means more touring for all of us.

I wish I could post a link to a song or a snippet, but James Murphy and Co. are so good at keeping things under wraps that we’re all just gonna have to wait bated breath.

    Pusha T-King Push

Pusha T is by far one of the best rappers in the game right now. He’s one of the only rappers that has a combination of amazing flow and deep lyrics, but this album has been relatively forgotten about due to the saturation of others rappers. The reason Push’s album shoudl be recognized is because he’s not like most of these rappers. Sure we have an insane amount of rappers currently, but very few do it like Pusha.

Los Campesinos! – Sick Scenes (https://hasitleaked.com/2016/los-campesinos-sick-scenes/)

It the sixth studio by the Welsh indie pop band and the first two tracks sound better than ever. The energy driven sound is still there but much more “mature”. The lyrics are full of hope and despair, uplifting and heartbreaking with your occasionally football reference mixed in between.
One of my favourite bands of all time is releasing a new album, so yeah, I’m hyped!

The Legendary Tigerman – “How to become nothing” (probably) – September (predicted release date)

The Legendary Tigerman (real name Paulo Furtado) is a portuguese one-man-ban with an unique style inspired by the blues-rock but also owner of an iconic image that transport us into a foggy James Dean movie.

Last Year he went on a journey trough California´s Joshua Tree National Park with a movie director (Pedro Maia) and a photographer (Rita Lino) so he could find inspiration and material for his upcoming album and also a movie, a book and a an art-exhibition.

Queens of the Stone Age is supposed to be releasing an album this year.

Every single album they’ve put out is awesome in it’s own way and all deserved to get noticed.

Milky Chance new album: Blossom out on March 17, 2017.

The band is coming off a long worldwide tour from their first album back in 2013. Now with new singles, “Cocoon” and “Doing Good” they’re looking to hit hard with the new album on another international level. The band itself started with just two members mixing music on a MacBook pro, microphone, and logic pro, producing some great and unique music. They also have a documentary leading up to the release on their process of writing and creating music which should be very interested. They are slotted to play shows of their full album in a live setting around the world a couple weeks before the actual release which will be great to follow and hear some snippets of new songs. Almost all the shows sold out in minutes showing the high anticipation for the bands new work. They cannot and should not go unnoticed!
