I’m actually not that big of a fan of specific sub genres of metal, personally, but I will say that Deafheaven (specifically their album “Sunbather”) is one of my favorite records from last year. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to artists or albums similar to Deafheaven and/or “Sunbather”?

  well right now I listen to subgeneres mostly so I can’t help you with black metal but lately I’ve heard quite a few thrash metal bands (= but most of them are quite old. Check them out if you want :) Assassin, Exumer, Possessed, Death Angel, Municipal Waste. Got into them (and a few more :D) really much:P
