Throughout the the week, Has it Leaked has gotten a lot of attention in the media, with interviews in New York Times and Metro. Today, BBC World ran a radio interview, discussing the recent Madonna and Björk leaks and the music industry going forward in 2015. It’s currently being in rotation on the BBC News Hour, and there will be a podcast online soon – But here’s an audio excerpt of the interview which aired.
We’ve also been referenced in interesting, well written and thought provoking articles, especially Vice’s Leaks, Deletes and Madonna’s Social Media Problem and Pitchfork’s Privacy as Protest: Where Leaks Are Leading Us. Both recommended reads as we’re heading into a new year, with labels trying once again to solve the leak issue.
Good stuff. About time to start noting on Wikipedia when leaks are confirmed. REPUTATION!!!
They should be thankful. IMHO some of this artist get a better start then others having been “exposed” to the world like this. In fact, this community is too big. And expecting from this community is to spread the news with fellow friends and family and getting then “contaminated” with new songs ahead of the time early on their “non-official” release in the World Wide Web. This gets to a early interesting in going to a “small” show, due to low prices (since the artist isn’t that “big”) and having more of a blast cause they are already familiar to something that “talks right in to their hearts”. In fact, I think this is a disadvantage for older bands (in some scenarios not all. Festivals do not count I guess, more like a solo/band show).
