Demos, outtakes and home recordings of Kurt Cobain are set to be released under the title Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings. These tracks are being released due to the recent documentary made. Universal Records, who are releasing the home recordings, aren't afraid to do multiple physical versions of the album.
There's a 31 track deluxe record or as a 13 track standard edition, due on November 13th. If that weren't enough there's a separate 7" with Cobains cover of The Beatles' 'And I Love Her'. The vinyl version is out on December 4th, and comes as a double disc set.
The documentary director Brett Morgen, were the one who sifted through the extensive Cobain archives for home recordings and rare tracks while curating the album.
I thought the Outcesticide series was the raping of the vaults, but surely this must be the last of it? I was a massive Nirvana fan back in the day but this just stinks of cash grab, much like the ‘greatest hits’ album that was released years ago. Maybe Courtney can go back to dancing at the No.5 Orange and make some money the good old fashioned way, by earning it.

Outcesticide was a bootleg series, not official by any means. Nirvana did not approve it, have control over it, nor make any money off it.
This however, is only a “cash grab” if people pay money to get it. If you think it’s a cash grab, don’t buy it.

Many artists have to survive on cash grabs to survive, in todays music economy – But there’s always the right to say no. Here there’s no one in the creative outlet, except the director, who has approved. Supposedly this might make it into Courtney’s bank account, along with her and Kurt’s child. But a lot of it swallowed up by the major music company – That’s where I feel that it gets icky.
??? Cortney approved. As did Francis. Cortney gave the director full access to Kurt’s archives. As was well reported.
Also well reported in the previous months was that Francis is getting the money, not Cortney. She sold off much of her share in Kurt’s estate years ago.
