A Day to Remember from Florida formed in 2003 and are being described as a metalcore/pop-punk/rock band. The bands current line-up include Jeremy McKinnon, Neil Westfall, Josh Woodard, Alex Shelnutt and Kevin Skaff. The band is set to release their new album "Common Courtesy" October the 8th.
An album which have seen a lot of delays. Common Courtesy was announced by the band with a countdown included. Once the countdown hit zero, first single "Violence (Enough Is Enough)" was released. This was back in December and since there's been a lot of speculation when the album actually will be released. On March 18th, Jeremy McKinnon, announced on Twitter that "Common Courtesy is officially tracked! Now, onward to mixing.". Still no official track list.
The band announced Friday night at a show in Michigan that the judge ruled that they could release their album October 8, without Victory. Here is the live video of that announcement.

so I’ve been reading up on the lawsuit… So basically its a loss? Sure they “won” and get to self-release it, but victory gets the profits. It’s a nice moral victory but I feel ADTR needs the money. In addition they will most likely have to release two more albums through victory, that’s an album winter of 2014 and 2015 IF they rush and do minimum touring, which is pretty much not gonna happen. So they are looking at AT LEAST 3 more years with victory. Obviously there are still more decisions to be made by the court, but I think this is a pretty sucky win right now
Well.. at least they got their wish and can release the album on Tuesday. It seems like that was their priority over anything else.

Although it will be a lot of money lost if Victory does get the profits from the album they will still be able to make quite a bit touring. You could always just download the album and send them money lol
If it counts as an album, they should just rush a couple of EP’s out and get their dealings with Victory over as soon as they can.

I had the same thought. I wouldn’t want them to rush a CD, but I’m sure they have enough material to put out another album after CC.

So, let’s say ADTR were to be done with Victory and able to sign to a new label. How big of a label do you think would take them? They’re getting to be a huge band, and the thought of them moving onto bigger and better things excites me. So what do you think?
I could see them going to Warner Bros or something.
I see them either going to Epitaph or Hopeless records. Epitaph because Jeremy and Josh own a branch of Epitaph (Running Man Records) and have many friends within the label. Hopeless because they are currently touring with two bands from Hopeless (All Time Low and The Wonder Years) and long time friends Bayside just recently made a move to Hopeless. As far as a huge label like Warner Brothers Records or something, I’m not entirely sure.
I agree with the Hopeless Records deal. I know Taking Back Sunday and Bayside both used to be on Victory and they have both recently moved to Hopeless.
Any label that doesn’t lock them into a five album deal.

Makes me think they may be free of victory very soon even if the judge decides they still have to provide two more albums. They obviously have a ton of material.
I haven’t been this excited for an album since Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold in 2010. I can’t go more than 5 minutes without thinking of CC.
OMG! ME TOO! Not only are ADTR and A7X my two fave bands, but they have the most dedicated fans in the world!
Something tells me since they’ve made it this far without releasing much info about the album that they will keep it that way til they release it, no tracklist or new song etc.
