A Day to Remember from Florida formed in 2003 and are being described as a metalcore/pop-punk/rock band. The bands current line-up include Jeremy McKinnon, Neil Westfall, Josh Woodard, Alex Shelnutt and Kevin Skaff. The band is set to release their new album "Common Courtesy" October the 8th.
An album which have seen a lot of delays. Common Courtesy was announced by the band with a countdown included. Once the countdown hit zero, first single "Violence (Enough Is Enough)" was released. This was back in December and since there's been a lot of speculation when the album actually will be released. On March 18th, Jeremy McKinnon, announced on Twitter that "Common Courtesy is officially tracked! Now, onward to mixing.". Still no official track list.
The band announced Friday night at a show in Michigan that the judge ruled that they could release their album October 8, without Victory. Here is the live video of that announcement.
So what do we all think? I think it was well worth the wait, loved every single song!!!
Same here haha cant stop rocking these songs
Life lessons is a brilliant song!!
Still trying to get used to it
3,8k comments WOW! I freaking love this album and it has so much heavy content but also great soft songs. They did it again!!
Why so many comments? Wtf.
You should have been here last night, man.
lol what happened? I don’t really like this band anyway, was just curious. It’s been the highest number of comments I’ve ever seen here, I think.
EVERYBODY was going crazy for this leak, and as soon as people who pre-ordered got their links in their email, people were getting jealous and crazy. Just look at the thread of messages, we called ourselves the ADTRSquad for a few minutes..
It’s here, and it’s fabulous. WORTH THE WAIT.
BEST OF ME =) <3
Bout to listen to it all, I’ll tell you guys my feedback! (Even though I already rated it a 10/10 ;))
I love the album! A great mix of heavy, pop punk and acoustic stuff!
YOU’LL LIVE YOUR LIFE AS A FUCKING TARGET!
Sorry I had to do it. You can bully me all you want.
But isn’t that a Super-Target?
Well he says Target really loud so probably it’s like an enormous Target…
Is anyone else struggling to wrap their heads around how amazing this album is…that’s its making them think too much about it?
Pretty obvious which songs are based towards Victory :P
What ever happened to that Smash Mouth cover? Could that be a bonus track?
There was never going to be a Smash Mouth cover (At least I sincerely doubt it). There was probably something in the song or song idea that made them think of Smash Mouth. Not sure which song it may not even be on this version of the album and on the deluxe instead.
I genuinely can’t stop listening to it. Perfect album in my opinion, more than worth the wait. ADTR are right back at it again, top form.
YO I GOT USED TO IT
Ahh dude, I feel bad for you man, yes it’s very different, but it’s amazing and still very ADTR-like to me
GOOD
Don’t kill me, but I think this one might be a grower on me.
NOW HOLD UP! I’m not saying it’s bad, I just found at times I wasn’t really rocking out to it. I think the heaviness is a little lacking. Violence, Dead & Buried and Life Lessons are HEAVY AS BALLS. But I mean that’s about it. There’s moments elsewhere but it’s a little too pop punk and acoustic I think. I loved the end of I Remember, but the actual song was a bit dull.
But man, there are moments that blew my brains out of the back of my head. Life Lessons is amazing, as is Violence (but we already knew that), and I’m Already Gone is really catchy and fun. Sometimes You’re The Hammer was a great blend too.
But I mean, Best of Me, I Surrender, Life @ 11… I just kinda tuned out and lost my focus. I like the pop-punk stuff ADTR have done, but I found some of the tracks to be a bit throwaway and ‘catchy for the sake of being catchy’.
I’d like to add that I’ve only heard it once, so this is a first impression. This might (and often does with new album) change when I’ve heard it a few more times
It’s the exact same as any other ADTR album. Pure heavy songs are there of course but the lesser ones just have melodic choruses with heavy verses
I cannot get over that one line in Life Lessons. “I heard a little girl killed herself today; that blood’s on your hands”
You can tell they made this album for themselves and they did it exactly how they wanted to which is why it is so good.
I can’t stop listening….
I’M CRYING THIS ALBUM IS PERFECT
TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT
The original version of The Document Speaks for Itself is the greatest thing I’ve ever heard
Favourite song is definitely Sometimes you’re the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail. Overall the whole album is amazing, ADTR did such a good job.
THIS IS WHAT PERFECTION SOUNDS LIKE
:D
dat unreleased intro to document tho
I can’t find it :/
google “adtr the document speaks for itself” top 2 results: POZ and Under The Gun…both have versions of it
Go on absolutepunk and look for the article titled “The Voicemail Speaks for itself”
haha wish it made the album like that!
The interview with Jeremy is up now on absolute punk.
Sometimes You’re The Hammer, Sometimes You’re The Nail, Dead and Buried, The Document Speaks For Itself, The Best Of Me. Anyone else feeling these 4?
Those are my top four, along with City of Ocala right after that, but all of them are fucking amazing! Seriously their best work yet!
