So far, the story of Tennis has almost taken on the nature of a folkloric narrative. There is the eight months sailing at sea; escaping the captivity of mountainous Colorado for bluer pastures that is now permanently chronicled in their first full-length. There is the mass influx of popularity and attention from practically every legitimate media outlet, quickly winning people over with the couple's jangly yacht-pop. Having found their life-long inspiration in life at sea, the pair continues their music as a product of their passion. Their newest release is the double A-side Origins 7" single on vinyl through Forest Family. The one A-side is the result of a recording session with producer Patrick Carney, famed drummer of the Black Keys. The outcome is the plushest recording from the band to date, a truly sublime collaboration between the producer and the artists. The opposite side entitled "Deep In The Woods" is a perfect complement to its counterpart and displays the well-known warming intimacy Tennis can manifest through their self-produced songs. On February 14, indie-pop duo Tennis follow up this year's Cape Dory with a new album on Fat Possum, called Young and Old.
