Alteras is a 5 piece post-hardcore band from Youngstown, Ohio set out to produce alluring music and do everything possible to spread it like wild-fire. Beginning in youth, music has been a driving factor in each of the members lives. This is the foundation which the band was founded on, a passion to live an extraordinary life focused on what defines each of them as a person.
The original founding members of the band are vocalist, Jake Clasen(age 20), and drummer, Matt Heitzer(age 19). The two began playing music together in their early teens and never stopped. Along the way they went through a variety of line-up changes but eventually picked up guitarist Jordan Woolley(age 20), bassist Tony Adams(age 19), and guitarist Mike Dulay(age 22). With each new member the band's style became more sound, resulting in what you hear today.
Over time the band has collected some merit, including a featured spot in Band For A Cure's most recent benefit compilation. The compilation was actually entitled "Alteras" featuring the band's singles "Toby Or Not Toby" and "Promise Me Dishonesty", and can be purchased on iTunes as well as other online distributors. All the album proceeds go to aiding cancer research and cancer treatment.
