Anthony Green cuts loose from a destructive relationship in "Breaker," the lead track off his upcoming solo album Young Legs. It opens with dramatic keys and bracing percussion, and is an extension of the singer-songwriter's past work; "Breaker" originated as part of the outro for the song "Get Yours While You Can" from Green's last album, Beautiful Things.
For the version that appears on Young Legs, Green turned to some old friends before heading into the studio. "The guys in Good Old War were already familiar with the track from jamming on it every night, so it was easy to work in first," Green tells Rolling Stone.
In the song, Green anxiously contemplates a relationship and its dim future. In the gradual inclusion of heavy, thick guitars, his moment of clarity arrives.
Young Legs will drop on November 12th, 2013. Midwest tour dates and Pre-Order options available on his website
