Avulsed is a death metal band from Spain, formed in summer 1991 in Madrid, Spain by Dave Rotten (who also manages the Xtreem Music record label)
The band recently entered Madrid's La Casa del Ruido Studios by Dani Blanco to begin recording their long-awaited sixth full-length album, "Ritual Zombi". A conceptual effort dealing with zombies, the CD will contain nine new songs, including three instrumentals, plus a cover version of the DEATH classic "Zombie Ritual". The first Avulsed album to feature new drummer Osckar Bravo will be mixed in Barcelona at Moontower Studios by Javi Félez. Mastering duties will be handled by Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity, Bloodbath, Nightingale) at Unisound studios in Örebro, Sweden. The cover artwork, which can be seen below, was created by Juanjo Castellano, who worked on the latest Putrevor album and is said to be "the perfect choice to conceive the most putrid transcription of Avulsed's sound."
