London, England's Cheatahs will release their self-titled debut LP in the US on February 11th, 2014 via Wichita Recordings. The album follows the recent release of single 'Cut The Grass/Kenworth,' which offered an advance preview of two album tracks and came out on October 15th, 2013 digitally and as a double A-side 7-inch.

A roaring mix of ecstatic noise, ambient drone, and resounding alt-rock, Cheatahs expands the sound found on the band's Extended Plays, a compilation of their two UK-exclusive 2012 EPs Coared and SANS released in the US last February. Throughout the album, Cheatahs maintain a pitch-perfect balance of melody, noise, and texture, from the barreling guitar wall of "Geographic" to the gentler, sinuous "Mission Creep;" from the anthemic "The Swan" (an altered take from the Extended Plays version) to the charging, multi-parted atmospherics of "Kenworth;" and from the evocative, swooning "IV" to the booming "Get Tight." In addition to "Cut The Grass," which premiered on The AV Club in August ("...crunchy textures with dreamy melodies and wispy vocal harmonies"), track "Fall" premiered on Pitchfork in March as an early taste of the album and was quickly declared a "...catchy-as-f*ck soaring-guitar anthem" by Stereogum. Loose themes of nature, the city, memory, dislocation, self-identity and the complexities of relationships run through all the songs, which were recorded and mixed by bassist Dean Reid and produced by the band, in keeping with their previous releases.

Cheatahs spent the early part of this year working on the album, first traveling to the Cornwall countryside to record in a stone-floored cottage before returning to London. They continued tracking at Dropout studios (home of friends Part Chimp) in the Camberwell neighborhood, making full use of the on-site arsenal of potent vintage amps. After a March/April national US tour supporting Wavves and FIDLAR, and in between a smattering of UK/European summer shows that included a performance at the Primavera Festival, Cheatahs headed home to finish the album in Reid's ramshackle east London studio. A full track listing and cover artwork are below.

Cheatahs was born in a Camden pub, where singer/guitarist Nathan Hewitt (originally from Edmonton, Alberta) and guitarist James Wignall (from Leicester, UK) first met while working seven years ago and bonded over a mutual love of Seinfeld and hardcore punk. It wasn't until 2010 and several separate bands later that the two began playing together; with a handful of songs written, they asked friends Marc Raue, originally from Dresden, Germany, and Dean Reid, from San Diego, CA to join them on drums and bass respectively. The fledgling band released a few tapes and 7"s on various labels before Marshall Teller Records released debut EP Coared in the UK in June 2012. After signing to Wichita Recordings, companion EP SANS was released that November.

Cheatahs are on tour with Metz in Europe and the UK through the end of this month. A current itinerary is below and more touring news will be announced soon.

Cheatahs are: Nathan Hewitt (vocals/guitar), Marc Raue (drums), Dean Reid (bass/vocals), and James Wignall (guitar/vocals).
