Elbow are readying a new album titled "The Take off and Landing of Everything". Pretentious and epic title. The rumored title was actually, "All At Once".
The album is set for March 3rd. You can listen to the second song lifted from the album below, titled "New York Morning".
Here's an interview with Garvey regarding the album;
A lot of my friends are discovering ecstasy as they near 40 and I'm going: 'What the hell are you doing?' We were on the fringes of the E generation but we didn't get into it. "But how does a rock star have a mid-life crisis? Sell his motorbike?"
Speaking to NME about the sound of the album, Garvey continued: "(We've been) messing with tempos here and there… it’s got some old-school spacerock sensibilities. It’s very celebratory in parts, as you’d expect."
Garvey added: "Tempo changes in the middle of songs happen less and less often, but it’s a great musical tool. There are more of those from us than normal on this record."
I think the single is simply fantastic. Really looking forward to the album.
Artwork has been released. Any Day Now…..
Jesus, is that the official artwork? I prefer the plain red.
This is out on iTunes US, where’s the leak?
A place called ‘What.CD’, a torrent/host/track site, has a copy of the album leaked. It’s not going to be released anytime soon as the site they host is ‘invitation-only’. See here: https://twitter.com/album_leak/status/440912987839160320
The “What.CD” tracker is down and has been for a bit for people that don’t know. Check status @ whatstatus.info
