Geri Halliwell gained fame in the 90's as Ginger Spice of the Spice Girls. Since her departure from the group, she has released 3 solo albums. "Putting on the Bling" is her first solo album since "Passion" was released in 2005. In March 2010 vocal coach and singer Carrie Grant announced on ITV1's The Alan Titchmarsh Show that Halliwell would be making a return to music. In April 2010, Halliwell posted a message on her website, saying she was back in the studio and referring to Lady Gaga as one of her influences. In May 2011, reports suggested Halliwell would be making a return to music. On July 31, 2011 Geri confirmed she had been working on her fourth album, stating "The album's pretty much finished". In February 2012, Halliwell announced that the album was being mastered. In October 2012, it was reported that Geri had signed a new seven-album record deal with Universal Music Group, shortly after unveiling new upcoming single, "Phenomenal Woman", at the Breast Cancer Care Show. In January 2013, it was reported that Halliwell returned to the recording studio, and will release new album Putting On the Bling later in the year. On March 4th, Halliwell released a demo for the title track on Youtube. The album appears to be a bit of a departure from Halliwell's past sound in that it has a more jazz feel to it. No release date, album art, or tracklisting have been confirmed.
