You'd think we would stop being surprised by now, but ever-prolific indie rock song factory Robert Pollard has announced he'll be issuing a ton of new records between October and February, and finishing this latest release cycle with a Guided By Voices album called Motivational Jumpsuit.
The news of Guided By Voices' latest full-length came via Pollard's Facebook page, where he posted the cut-and-paste artwork and the loose February due date. Not much else is known about the set just yet, but the LP follows this year's English Little League and will be delivered through the band's GBV Inc. imprint.
Ahead of that LP release, though, Pollard will issue a pair of 7-inches to get us through the fall. First up is the "Tonight's the Rodeo" single, which arrives October 29 through GBV Inc. You can sample the jangling, Kinks-y power pop title track down below. A second solo single for "Return of the Drums" drops November 26, also on GBV Inc.
Just in case you forgot, Pollard also has not one, but two new albums from his Circus Devils being issued this fall as well. Both When Machines Attack and My Mind Has Seen the White Trick, prepped by Pollard and brothers Todd and Tim Tobias, hit stores October 29 through Happy Jack Records.
As previously reported, When Machines Attack is described as a concept record about "a probable future forecasting civilization's approaching doom and the opportunities to cash in." My Mind Has Seen the White Trick, meanwhile, promises to push the band into jazzier soundscapes.
