Hummano was formed in mid august 2010 with guitarist Fernando Diez and drummer Adrian “Techin” Arteche, both members of the classic Spanish band Natural Born Stonehead. From another band called MyAlterEgo, vocalist Thomas “Sito” Shutter, guitarist Alfonso Valladolid and bassist Alejandro Prada, closed the line-up of this neck breaking metal/deathcore band from Madrid.
With Bury Your dead as a main influence in terms of their low tuning, simple-structured direct songs, and with their minds in bands so disparate from each other such as Bring Me The Horizon, Meshuggah, Despise Icon, Whitechapel or Pantera, Hummano came up with an acid formula to transmit their music. The band evolved from a breakcore style into a fluent combination of styles such as metal, death metal, grindcore, deathcore or even rock.
Not long after the formation of the band, Alejandro Prada left the band in order to concentrate in his other two bands (MyAlterEgo, The Eleventh Failure) and his career as a producer. In his place, a long time friend of the band, Pablo (Mundanku, Slap Out), stepped in to occupy Prada’s place, and became a permanent member of the band.
Before Prada left the band in 2011, he recorded a 2 song demo titled “Pordetralus” (parody of the classic Tool album, “Lateralus”), which means “from behind”. The demo quickly made echo and became a first contact with the most prestigious press in Spain (Metal Hammer, Mondosonoro, The Metal Circus, Rafa Basa, Zona Zero, RockZone).
In 2012, Alfon also decided to quit the band, but Hummano, far from losing their fast career and direction, centered all their efforts in finishing off their debut album, “Is The Shit”, which they are now presenting. Produced by Alejandro Prada and the band, this first LP was recorded between The Metal Factory Studios with Alex Cappa (Thirteen Bled Promises, Vita Imana, Silent Havoc) overseeing the recording process, and AllSeeingEye Studios, with Alejandro Prada behind the controls, in charge of mixing and mastering the album.
“Is The Shit” is composed of 7 songs which last just over 25 minutes, a very concise duration that the band considers enough for an album’s length, that can be easily heard by anyone from beginning to end, and that will yield a need to hear it again. A compact experience of metal and deathcore. The album features collaborations from Turri, singer of Thirteen Bled Promises, in the song “Undercock”, Edu from Moñigo in “Masturbed” and “We Cum As Romainas”, and Gorka from Natural Born Stonehead in “Ham Of God”.
Don’t let their humorous personality and imagery fool you, their music and lyrics are as serious as you can get, talking about life, death, lifestyle and personal problems and situations that anyone could relate to.
