Iconic thrash metallers Megadeth revealed today the title of their upcoming album due to be released in June 2013. Super Collider was the chosen name for the fourteenth full-length studio album. Megadeth's Super Collider is the first release through Mustaine's new label, Tradecraft, to be distributed worldwide by Universal Music Enterprises.
Mustaine said during a break in the sessions: "It was a real thrill for us to learn there was an opportunity to join Universal. It seems like every time you see a great band or music video, it comes from the Universal label. Being with Universal is by far the most exciting and prestigious home for Megadeth ever! We are electrified with what the future holds and the possibilities such a powerhouse like Universal will bring for us all. We have worked with some great people over the years, and it is amazing to see so many of them on the Universal team for our new record, Super Collider. If Megadeth being here isn't satiating enough, having Tradecraft as my own label is going to be really amazing for metal bands around the world."
Mustaine added: "Shawn, Chris and David have all been feverishly contributing some great music and I believe we are doing our best work ever together in the studio right now!"
"Megadeth is not just one of the most successful metal bands, but one of the most influential rock bands of the past 30 years," said UMe President/CEO Bruce Resnikoff in making the announcement. "They continue to be a huge draw on the road with their longtime fans as well as continually adding new fans. I look forward to working together with them."
Along with the details about their upcoming album, the band revealed that they will tour in the UK, headlining shows in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester and London. The tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 15th, and are available from here or over here.
Megadeth is no longer Megadeth. Its Dave and hired guns. I love Dave, and saw them for RIP anniversary, blown away. But really, as far as new cd’s haven’t been with them since Youthanasia and that was the beginning of the end…
Megadeth is Megadeth. Although the latest albums were not of the old Megadeth fame, Dave always made good music.
But Megadeth is, and has always been, Dave and David essentially, Marty, Nick, Chris or Gar were never REALLY Megadeth, cause Dave wrote the majority of the material, with a bit of help from the others.
Megadeth has always been Daves band. He is the master mind of megadeath bro. Its his band and what he says goes. He is judge And jury. Besides Davids back in the band now and its always been just them two since the beginning. Bro. The Marty and nick era was always my favorite, but they were just hired guns two and this line up is just as good.
true story

(I’m not a high enough level to edit or I would.)
As Dayton said, album cover has been updated. Since it’s not a plain jpg, I suggest this link: http://25.media.tumblr.com/84e1c17f7ce6c19b49ef1cd21a86e30c/tumblr_ml2nfaUVD91rq5jsso1_500.jpg
Here is the preview of the new song “Don’t Turn You Back” on Youtube:

This really could go either way judging by that snippet. The beginning sounds very Megadethy, but then towards the end you can hear it trailing off into the 13 style verse/chorus which are just full of cheesiness
I have the agree. The beginning of the song is very heavy and cool, but that 13 chorus style f*cked everything…
To agree*

The people worried about the single should watch some of the studio videos (and one interview with Dave where you can hear a new song in the background). There are some killer riffs there.
I’m really hyped about the album. Personally, I like all Megadeth albums (that’s right,
even Risk) and have been a fan ever since. However, the title track made me…
uhm… a little worried. I won’t critizise Dave, because the song has definitely
its point. I just really didn’t like it, I gave up after giving it three shots.
In my opinion, it just doesn’t sound like Megadeth. But what makes me feel
better again is the (barely 50 sec long) intro on “Don’t Turn Your
Back”. This one smells like more trash metal. I’m also optimistic
regarding the studio updates from winter 2012/2013, which included really
badass stuff. Also, I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s release of
“Kingmaker”, a song about substance abuse, as Dave confirmed. Make
sure you get to listen to the song and tell me your opinion. Thank you!
Why didn’t it leak already?I think TH1RT3EN leaked 3 weeks before the street date. Someone at the Amazon Warehouse should have it by now.
It has leaked!!!
i can’t find a download anywhere…
Well, I like this new face of megadeth, is more fun, but do not think Dave’s voice fits with this new style. In my opinion an instrumental version of the album would be great.
Nothing to memorable in my opinion. Not there best attempt, but is a few good tracks I like “Don’t Turn Your Back…” myself.
