Jillian Banks, simply known as BANKS, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. She releases music under Harvest Records, Good Year Recordings, and Iamsound Records. After the release of her debut EP "LONDON" in the Fall of 2013, BANKS has been steadily growing a fanbase. She followed her EP with songs such as; "Brain", "Work", and "Warm Water".
In Late April of 2014 BANKS announced her debut LP. She offered up the title track "Goddess" as well. The album features much of the work she has put out over the past year and many new tracks. The LP is due September 9th, ready to start off the Fall album releases.

I’m not sure what to make of it when artists release debut albums consisting of a lot of previous releases. Including bonus tracks, 6 of the 18 tracks are from her EP’s “Fall Over” & “London”. Between this and the 4 singles already released this doesn’t leave all that much for September.
We’ve had 10 of the 18 tracks three months in advance of Goddess’s release; and I’m sure more singles will follow. Don’t get me wrong I think the album will be great (“Brain”, “Drowning” & “This Is What It Feels Like” sound especially amazing), but for me it probably will feel more like an compilation of her work up to now, than a album in a more traditional sense. But yeah, just my opinion.

I haven’t heard her stuff, but I’m interested in the LP. And I’m not a fan of EPs anyway :)
Banks, I have to say, is the biggest new talent of 2014 (biggest talent of 2013 being Lorde). Her lyrics deep and meaningful, with the moaning chorus and brooding bass line. She is amazingly talented. My two favorite songs by her are “Waiting Game” and “Goddess”.

Yes, the leak is real. But a couple of tracks are radio edits, they are clean and it doesn’t include the deluxe tracks.

I like the album alot but… as a hetero male it’s a big challenge to take an album called Goddess serious no pun intended. Kinda like when Beyonce made Run The World.
