The first piano sound and Dominique Dillon de Byington’s voice resonate after a noisy roar. There it is, the unique timbre of Dillon, a young artist living in Berlin. Her 2011 debut album This Silence Kills ecstasized the music industry and the magazine’s music sections. It was sweet and attracting enough to be established as a pop and songwriter record as well as sufficiently experimental to be taken seriously as an art project. There was talk of Chanson pop, of sensual electronic and a Feist-like voice followed by two outsold tours and numerous festival gigs around the world – unknown territory for Dillon.
The female musician has now announced the release of her second LP: “The Unknown” is due to be released March 31st, 2014 via Ellen Allien’s record label BPitch Control Records. The production includes twelve tracks.
