Two Weeks is amazing
I’ve been listening to it pretty mush constantly since it came out. Possibly my favourite song of the year so far! and that video, wow.
Oh my. Two Weeks is my favorite FKA Twigs song yet! Though LP1 is all explicit, I will forget the language and cry in the glory of FKA Twigs. I also have no idea how to add hype with new format so I’m freaking out! Unless I hyped it up a while ago…..

I was skeptical, but you can believe the hype on this one. Great album.
My review (from FFWD weekly): The rather unassumingly titled LP1 by FKA twigs, her debut album, is a deceptive name for an album packed with sexuality, despair and personal exploration. FKA twigs’ voice quivers with every note, both euphoric and despairing. The music echoes the emotional dichotomy with pop-worthy beats and unhinged sounds.
The production is reminiscent of Aphex Twin or Blood Orange, with head-spinning glitches and a plethora of uncommon sounds that communicate both elation and deep sadness. Even as an instrumental album, LP1 would have a lot to offer. It has incredible melodies with careful shifts, complex beats and sounds that have been so skewed they become spacey and dreamy.
The lyrics are sexual, but certainly not sexy. FKA twigs’ whispery, high-register voice communicates such a saddening confusion as she searches for the answers to love’s tough questions. To add to the confusion, her voice is layered and obscured, giving an even more dream-like quality to the songs.
There’s something incredibly magical about FKA twigs’ debut album. It speaks on a human level, sharing questions many have no doubt asked when in the throws of desire, pulled together with music that’s ridiculously interesting. Altogether, a completely one-of-a-kind release.
Didn’t love this as much as I thought I would. Too bad, early looks at it were promising. Happy many others are enjoying it though.
