While the album title wasn't official at first - It's now out in the open; Linkin Park is set to return with The Hunting Party on June 14th.
The band were working on the soundtrack for an upcoming film called Mall, directed by Joe Hahn. In an interview with Fuse, Mike Shinoda stated they began working on their sixth album.
Linkin Park is scheduled to perform at Download Festival on June 14, 2014, where they will play their debut album Hybrid Theory in its entirety for the first time. Linkin Park confirmed that they will headline Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in 2014, along with Metallica, Kings of Leon, and Iron Maiden. They will also headline with Iron Maiden again at the Greenfield Festival in 2014.
Shinoda recently hinted in a status update on his blog that the sixth album will be released in during 2014. On March 6, 2014, the band released their new single, "Guilty All the Same", which features American rapper Rakim, from the upcoming studio album through Shazam. The band's sixth studio album was later revealed to be titled as The Hunting Party, and it is set to be released on June 14, 2014.
Speaking about the band's sixth album to Noisey, Mike Shinoda said: "What's worked for us in the past is stick to our guns as far as what our creative vision is, spend a lot of time on it, and really craft it. On this record we spent six months in the studio, probably six more out of the studio in addition, just coming up with demos and throwing them away."
He added: "In contrast to that, there was a pop artist who I won't name who was in the studio while we were doing our record—they showed up for three days. Day one they showed up for thirty minutes, day two they showed up for fifteen, and day three they neglected to show up at all. The song was done."
Here's the latest single, Rebellion.
oh ya LP is streaming the album now on their FB page
rutracker has 320kbps version
i really enjoy mark the graves for some reason. its structure is odd and on the first listen, it was hard to identify the verse or the chorus, but it stuck out for me in the end.
keys to the kingdom is, of course, unanimously awesome.
war is great. sounds like classic punk rock, almost like the sex pistols.
all for nothing is pretty good. probably one of my least favourites of the album but still decent. nice use of guest star though.
a line in the sand reminds me of my favourite band, avenged sevenfold and i don’t know why. i love it, good stuff
superb album. properly feels like a return to form with a hint of maturity and growth that the band has proven to display
if people thing 192 sounds good there clueless..its a very poor version. I’m listening on iTunes and its so so so much better . the album is class. i can’t wait to have to cd. in the mean time I’ve found a 320 download of it :P
Keys to the Kingdom and Mark the Graves are easily the strongest songs on the album.
In general you could say it’s a dive into punk rock territory for them, which works really well on some songs but not others. They succeeded with this in MTG, where you can hear a definite Foo Fighters and 90s punk influence, which hit home with Chester’s harmonizing in the chorus. Where it didn’t work for me was War. ALITS also didn’t need such a punk style chorus, which felt disjointed from the rest of the song (which was better). But definitely some highlights through the album. I really, really dug KTTK from the first listen though. It’ll go down as one of the greats.
I was thinking about writing a short review. Perhaps I’ll do it tomorrow since I’m way too tired.
Nothing special really. I expected more from LP. Only 2 songs I like are rebellion and final masquerade. Maaaaybe KTTK but nothing more for sure. I’m dissapointed
Shame…go share your grief somewhere else
Just expressing my opinion. If you mind it – ignore or express your own
I apologise, I didn’t mean any offense…I thought were one of those extreme lp critics
Not at all. I like LP, I just think that they can do better. No offense taken, apology accepted. Hope you stick around on the site :)
Well, what do you think about it after listening to their new material?:D
itunes version cant be found any where 192kbps quality is not enough
I’m gonna miss entering this page every day and ask if it leaked or give some information. Until next time, my fellow friends.
Until next time :)
and its coming.new album.soon
I either have to start Really lowering my expectations or expect bands I like to just not be great anymore. This was……Not good.
So the only 320kbps torrents I’ve found are the censored version. Just a little frustrating. If anyone found an explicit 320 I’d appreciate if they told us :P
Explicit iTunes is out.
I need the old meteora / hybrid theory times back :/ not gonna be a good friend of that album tho..
FREAKING AMAZING ALBUM! LINKIN PARK FOREVER
does anyone know if the hybrid theory live from download festival has leaked? http://thehuntingparty.linkinpark.com/uk/
Why did this come up on the recently leaked list again today? Randomness.
@mukeanythin Actually, we don’t know. And why is your comment placed here… Ghost in the machine? :P
I didn’t even realise it was a few months too high up the comments, ghosts indeed. XD
better than their last couple IMO
