Repeater is an evolving band and project formed in 2005 in Long Beach, CA.
From the remains of darkwave band The Main Frame, Repeater began as a foray into the sweeter indie and post-punk sounds of The Cure, Chameleons, Mew, and even Bowie, with elements of mainstream modern rock. Through the course of several lineup changes, 3 EPs and 3 albums, they have created sounds evocative of Brit-rock, Gothic, post-hardcore, and most lately, layered pop music with an emphasis on craft.
After a performance hiatus, Repeater returned with a new lineup in support of 2014’s Repeater. Steve Krolikowski on vocals and guitar, Tess Shapiro on vocals and synth, Alex Forsythe on lead guitar, Christopher Fudurich on bass, and Charlie Woodburn on drums.
Repeater has played nearly 200 shows across Southern California and the West Coast. with bands as diverse as Sleigh Bells, Chameleons (Mark Burgess), Veruca Salt, and The Black Angels, along with many prominent regional bands. Produced with Christopher Fudurich, Josh One, and Ross Robinson, among others, Repeater’s recordings have always maintained an element of DIY. Lead writer and singer Steve Krolikowski also contributed vocals to James ‘Munky’ Shaffer’s alternative supergroup Fear and the Nervous System. Repeater’s newest recording, Repeater (self titled), produced by Fudurich, is set for release on Nov. 18, 2014.
