SADDOLLS is a Greek Darkwave Metal band from Athens in Greece. They have released EP„Dead In The Dollhouse” in 2007, album „About Darkness” in 2009, „Happy Deathday” 2012 and „Grave Party” which is availble since April 2014.
“Rave to the Grave” is a great electronic intro to the killer single song “Lady Cry” which connects stronger riffs, electronic drums, keys and melodic modern chorus. Such sounds remind me climate of bands like HIM, THE SISTER OF MERCY, LORDI, THE 69 EYES or RAMMSTEIN. “Terminate Me” is an interesting track, because electro sounds mix heavy ones and clear vocal mixed with screaming in CRADLE OF FILTH style.
Atmospheric climate in the ballad “On the Road 66” is fantastic with stronger guitars and gentle piano. The vocalist has a deep and clear voice, which could melt every heart, and this is hear able in the melodious track “Bleed Sister Bleed”, with low guitars. It shows the class of this Greek band.
The catchy energetic track “Suicide Girl”, shows a fine mix of piano & heavy guitars. In “Dancing Shadows”, an anxiety mood with beat drums. Heavy guitars, electronic, clear vocal mixing screaming in “The Last Valentine” is even more than great when vocalist sings together with female vocalist. In another side of their music, the band shows in “Creeping Skies” which is full of Metal with pulp of drums & guitars, screaming and deep vocals. A fine sound of keys, melodic of Love Metal with dark echoes are in “Angels Making Love (In the Dark) with a little similarity even to DEPECHE MODE.
SADDOLLS plays Dark Metal, Darkwave with similarity to bands HIM, THE SISTER OF MERCY, LORDI, THE 69 EYES and RAMMSTEIN, so I'm sure everyone who loves such climates, electronic sounds and melodic beauty connecting with hard sounds in music will like this album. Choruses are very catchy and dig in your mind for a very long time after listening to the whole CD. Production on high level could enjoy listening to this CD. This album is definitely addicting! SADDOLLS aren't sad at all – their music is fun and melodic.
