I’m not sure how to describe Phoenix, AZ six-piece Take Over and Destroy. Blackened space-thrash? Cult death metal via Jim Morrison? Their Twitter hails them as “an American rock & roll band from the 1970?s trapped inside a Scandinavian metal band from the early 1990?s”, which is pretty accurate. All you need to know is, these guys slay. Their debut, Endless Night, was my 2013 Album Of The Year, and I still haven’t stopped spinning it. So it’s not a surprise that I’ve been waiting with bated breath for their new record.
Well, the wait is over. This month, the band will release Vacant Face, a creepy-as-fuck album that channels everything from Entombed and Absu to Alice Cooper and Coven.
