Ennio Morricone wrote a score for new Quentin Tarantino's picture, western The Hateful Eight. It's Maestro's first western in 35 years. Director has been known as a fan of Morricone's work for a long time now and he worked with him on Django Unchained. Composer regretted this collaboration and it took time to convince him to return.
Morricone admitted that a large part of score is actually unused soundtrack for John Carpenter's The Thing, but he also composed a brand new music.
Unlike many Tarantino films, this one doesn't include many songs. There are three exceptions: The White Stripes' Apple Blossom, David Hess' s"Now You're All Alone" and Roy Orbison's "There Won’t Be Many Coming Home".
