Last we checked in with Fulgora, we were premiering their brand new Converse Rubber Tracks-recorded jam “Meridian” right here on MetalSucks. The ferocious grind outfit — which features cousins Adam and John Jarvis (who also play in Pig Destroyer together, while Adam is also also a member of Misery Index and John is also also a member of Agoraphobic Nosebleed) — was described by our own Señor Rosenberg thusly: “forget a bull in a china shop, this is more like a bull in a china shop trying to dodge flying, electrified circle saws being shot at him from a cannon.” Touché.
Now “Meridian” has a music video, and said video is just as jarring as the song itself. While I usually tend to shy away from videos that feature gruesome/shocking clips of religious imagery and wartime footage (simply because there’s been so many such videos)), I couldn’t tear my eyes away from this one, particularly that scene of a full-on aerial bombardment of individual soldiers fleeing on foot. Intense.
Full-length album Strategem comes out in February via Housecore Records.
