"Silence In The Snow", the new JonPaul Douglass-directed video from Florida metallers TRIVIUM, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the band's new album, which will be released on October 2 via Roadrunner Records.
Said TRIVIUM guitarist/vocalist Matt Heafy: "For those of you wondering, this song was written for [2008's] 'Shogun', and is basically almost the same as it was, so 'Shogun' fans rejoice; didn't like 'Shogun'? You may not dig this. But know that since I was 12, I wanted to be a great singer I screamed, because I couldn't sing. I am proud and excited to finally be able to do what I love the way I love."
He continued: "Don't love it? Our old stuff still exists. Love it? Awesome. I love both sides of you all regardless.
"Screaming is easy. Singing is hard. I've always been a fan of what's harder. If you love the old stuff — listen to the old stuff, it's still there and we still play it live."
Heafy added: "We always want to evolve and make what we want to make. You can't say many other bands can say that. They do what they think people want or are told to; we do what we want every time.
"I was and am only capable of the scream you heard on most our albums. I needed to spread my wings. You should know I am a massive fan of the underground and appreciate their craft. Shrieks wouldn't work in TRIVIUM."
TRIVIUM in May 2014 parted ways with drummer Nick Augusto due to personal differences. Stepping in for him on TRIVIUM's most recent dates was the band's drum tech, Mat Madiro.

Someone please leak the album!!! 9 days until release… the last albums from Trivium always leaked like two weeks before… Where are the hackers??
Seriously! I’m eagerly awaiting this album to leak. They must’ve been more careful to who they sent out promo copies of the album to.
Orders were only beginning to ship to the furthest parts of the world over the last few days, so I’d imagine it will be leaking in the next 2 – 3 days.
And yeah the others leaked early, but they’ve got a lot of word of mouth out about this album already (arguably more than ‘In Waves’ and ‘Vengeance Falls’) so I reckon they held off sending it the promo copies out as many people as they did in previous years, possibly to contain the leaks also.
Let’s hope it leaks even sooner! The anticipation is killing me

If anybody has this album on heavy rotation, I just transcribed the majority of the lyrics over on genius.com. I’m 95% sure they’re correct, but the 5% of soft consonants and muddy production can always leave a bit up to interpretation. I’d be grateful for any peer-review. Cheers, and great album!

worst Trivium album by far… and I thought their previous one was bad
Pretty sure this isn’t the real album. Only 3 songs in 320k and the others sound like through an 80’s phone. I think someone put the 3 single tracks together with some random band and released it as leaked.
The three previously released singles are 320k, as you said, but the others are all taken off of the album stream that was streamed on SiriusXM. The “real” album will be uploaded by someone when they receive their physical copy on Friday or shortly afterwards.
How is there no CD quality rip of this out yet? Pretty amazing.
This album is pretty good but not as the old ones, the lack os screaming is not the problem. I think Trivium tried to make a more classic metal approach here but is stil a very good album,
