Essex punk/hardcore band GIANTS make damn good loud noises. I’m sure they’re also lovely chaps, but the point here is the loud music. They’ve just announced their debut full length album, Break The Cycle, is going to be released 1st April 2016 via Holy Roar Records (cue cheering).
They recorded it with Neil Kennedy at The Ranch (Yes, THAT Neil Kennedy, the one who’s done Creeper, Milk Teeth, Gnarwolves and More Than Life, and is in Ghostcub too I might add!). Break The Cycle has an angry, socio-political track listing that promises a lot more throw downs to come.
The first track off the album is also titled ‘Break The Cycle’ and is a certified monster by my standards. Strong riffs and just enough pause to allow a proper breakdown, the short track ends on “there is no f*cking hope”, but I disagree, there is hope. Hope that the album is full of tracks like this one, only longer.
Hardcore should be angry. It should make you want to smash things. Thankfully, they made a video to satisfy your smashy-smashy needs, so don’t go all hulk on your TV, the guys already did it for you.
There is something strangely hypnotic about this video, maybe its because we’re all 90s TVs on the inside, used up, broken, thrown on the tip. Or maybe its just because smashing stuff is freaking awesome, and in slow motion and reverse it’s even better.
Get your mosh on with the new track from GIANTS, it’s short but it sure as hell ain’t sweet.
