God is a woman. That's Elza Soares' first studio album since the invigorating and impactful "A Mulher do Fim do Mundo" (2015), scheduled to be released this first half of 2018, on April, more precisely.
Architected since the second half of 2017, the album is being recorded under the artistic direction of Romulo Fróes, between Red Bull (São Paulo) and Tambor (Rio de Janeiro) studios. Guilherme Kastrup is the musical producer of the album, formatted with Marcelo Cabral (bass and bass synth), Rodrigo Campos (cavaquinho and electric guitar), Kiko Dinucci (electric guitar, synthesizer and sampler), Mariá Portugal (drums, percussion and MPC) and Maria Beraldo (clarinet and clarone).
According to the label's release, the album is about "the birth of a new era, led by female energy". Although the creative nucleus of the album is formed by the same São Paulo troupe that orchestrated the previous album, Elza gives voice to unpublished songs of carioca composers, like Pedro Luís, author of "Deus Há de Ser". Songs composed by Alice Coutinho, Mariá Portugal (member of the band) and Tulipa Ruiz are expected to be included in the repertoire.
