Formed in Canada in 2014, Tip the Scales has been working hard to produce music that is both technical for the musicians in the audience, and digestible for the kids who want to thrash around in the pit. They have blended their favourite aspects from various influences to create their own sound. Influences such as; August burns red, Intervals,The Black Dahlia murder, Red Seas Fire, Veil Of Maya, Tool, and The Human Abstract.
Beneath the Surface is the debut album from Tip the Scales, which was announced with the early release of their first single Plague. The title Beneath the Surface refers to the parts of ourselves that we hide away from all but a select few in our lives, while this first single deals with themes of mental health, suicidal thoughts and the general feeling of being cut off from the world.
