Back in August, Deftones excited their fan base by sharing a few photos of band members jamming in a studio, with the hashtag #writing. While it could have been assumed that the band was working on an album for release next year, Deftones have just confirmed that there will indeed be new music in 2019.
During a live interview with Chino on instagram, Chino reveals the name title and possible month the new album in Tim Alexander's "Herbs Happy Hour." The current month release date is September, "We have a record that we finished maybe… a few weeks… maybe a month ago, about a month ago we finally got all the final mixes of it. It’s supposed to come out in I think September.” During the interview Chino also reveals the album will be called "Ohms"

Honestly, I like Gore over both Koi no Yokan and Diamond Eyes. Never liked SNW..I know I’m a minority but I just hope they keep the creative edge they had on gore.

The song ”Smile” from Eros album was incredible.
And i think from that point, Deftones will never sound like that at all.
I’m ready for disappontment because if ”Ohms” is the song they choose to build HYPE as single, then it’s fail.
The video is good but the song is horrible.
I guess we’ll never have ST-WhitePony-SNW-ATF era Deftones ever again. Except maybe someday when they release EROS.

Contrary to most other commenters I actually went from not liking the first two albums, only liking a handful of songs on White Pony and s/t, to liking most of the songs off any album since SNW. Guess I’m one of the few really looking forward to Ohms.
